James 1:12 “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
I believe I have used this verse in a previous weekly read, but it happened to fall into my path today, and I just felt the need to share something on my heart. How awesome is this statement in James? Even when we are under severe stress, extreme duress, scared, feeling alone, in financial distress, hurting, worried...the Lord is ever faithful to us. He tells us we are blessed. We, those of us who sometimes cause the very problems we are facing...are blessed. All we have to do is hold onto our faith. Believe, know, trust that the Lord can and will bring you through this trying time in your life. He knows your heart. He knows what you need before you do. He has you cradled in His loving arms. "Hold fast," he tells us. "Perservere through this time and you will receive the crown of life; My promise to you."
Let me say this again...BLESSED is the man who perseveres under trial. Not cursed, BLESSED. Not downtrodden, BLESSED. Not hopeless, BLESSED.
I praise God for giving me this reminder today. I am reminded by this verse of Natalie Grants new song "I Will Not Be Moved." I will stumble and I will fall down, but Lord, I will not be moved from Your grace and Your glory. I will not give up on You, because You never give up on me, no matter how many times I fail you. I pray Lord that those who also need this reminder will be led to this page today, and I am humbled to be used as a vessel for your word today, Lord, and I thank you for the wonderful man who sent me this very message today.
God has already richly blessed you today and everyday. I pray that you can always see the blessings through the hardships.
